for Vancouver School Board
Penny Noble, a former teacher and a public-relations and marketing veteran, is running for the Vancouver School Board in the November municipal election.
I have known Penny Noble for many years. She is a committed community volunteer, having served on many non-profit boards and worked on TEAM campaigns, heritage garden tours and many other projects. She is always willing, cheerful and positive, an excellent candidate.Marguerite Ford, former Vancouver City Council member
Prior to her PR work, Noble taught at the secondary and elementary-school levels in both Canada and the United Kingdom, and taught with the Vancouver School Board. With that background, she maintains a keen interest in the city’s public-educations sector.
She operates her own consulting practice, providing public affairs, communications and fund development services to a variety of clients. She is also Executive Director of Bike to Work BC Society.
Noble has served as Senior Director of Public Affairs for the BC Cancer Foundation and has held senior communications posts with Langara College, the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver, and positions within the tourism sector.
I first met Penny Noble when she volunteered to manage media relations for TEAM in the civic election many years ago and since through her many community endeavours. She has enviable indefatigable energy and will make a refreshing addition to Vancouver School Board.Beryl Wilson, community volunteer, Founder/publisher of former Creek newspaper
In 2012, she launched and organized the Heritage Vancouver Garden Tour (now in its third year) as a fundraiser for Heritage Vancouver. She has lived in a variety of cities in Europe and Canada and believes Vancouverites can learn from their approach to transportation, history and culture.
She is an accredited public relations practitioner (APR) and is a past president of the Canadian Public Relations Society Vancouver. She has won awards from several PR groups.
She is active in sea swimming, tennis, skiing, gardening and the restoration of heritage houses.
The Penny Noble I know cares a great deal about her community and gets involved in a wide variety of good causes and community projects. One of her successful initiatives that impresses me is as a director of the board of the Heritage Vancouver Society; she singlehandedly created the Vancouver Heritage Garden Tour and runs this fundraiser as a volunteer for the society, bringing in funding upwards of $20,000 cash! Penny Noble achieves a great deal for our communities!Linda Poole, founder and Executive Director, Vancouver Cheery Blossom Festival.
Penny is committed to transparency and ensuring sound financial management and accountability and is always positive and enthusiastic. She will be a great candidate for School Board.George Challis, Heritage Vancouver Society Board member and Advocacy Committee Member
I have had the pleasure of volunteering with Penny Noble on the Heritage Vancouver Society Garden Tour-fundraising tour of private gardens in Vancouver. She convinced me to be part of the organizing committee and not only was Penny fun to work with; she created a hugely successful event which raised funds, built community and made a lot of people happy.Susan Challis, retired teacher and Heritage Vancouver Garden Tour committee member
